Metaphor ReFantazio may have just released but it's already setting records over at Atlus for being the companies fastest selling game having sold 1 million units in its first day.

Today publisher Sega announced that Metaphor ReFantazio hit the impressive milestone via a blog post. The post which is in Japanese translates:
"Hello, this is Atlas Public Relations.
The cumulative number of worldwide sales (package version shipments + download version sales) of “Metaphor: ReFantazio”, which will be released today, October 11, has exceeded 1 million copies!
“Metaphor: ReFantazio” is currently on the overseas review collection site “Metacritic” Xbox version: 92 points, PlayStation®5 version: 93 points, Windows/Steam version: 91 points and each platform Marked a high score (as of October 11, 2024).
In addition, we have received a wide range of support, such as winning the Japan Game Award “Future Category”, which is selected annually by public voting, for the second consecutive year in 2023 and 2024.
I would like to express my deep gratitude to everyone who supported us.

With Metaphor ReFantazio selling 1 million units in its first day it becomes the fastest selling game in Atlus history surpassing the previous record held by Persona 3 Reload which reached the 1 million milestone in 1 week.

It is an impressive milestone for the new franchise, one that will likely give Atlus and Sega the confidence it needs to invest further in the new IP.
Metaphor ReFantazio releases today, October 11th on PC, PlayStation 4/5 and the Xbox Series consoles.
