In a busy week of announcements, from Tokyo Game Show highlights to the revitalizing of one of the most celebrated RTS games in history, I was fortunate to scroll across an eye-catching trailer for a newly announced hand-drawn 2D Action Platformer.
Inayah: Life after Gods is the first video game from Exogenesis Studios, a newly founded team made up of veterans with experience working with the like of Blizzard and Disney. Players will take on the role of the titular Inayah, an orphaned outcast that must traverse and survive a post-apocalyptic world to find their tribe.

The game’s Steam page highlights some key features, including diverse biomes to explore with secrets to uncover, multiple endings, over 20 bosses to encounter, and (my personal favourite) a drone companion called Sputnik!
Combat is focused around switching seamlessly between 3 weapon types, blades, fists and a flail, that have their own skill trees. As well as equipping amulets to enhance abilities and upgrading Inayah’s weapons, there looks to be a good deal of choice for curating your own playstyle.

At a time when so much video game news is filled with doom and gloom, it is both exciting and honestly comforting to share news of new games and studios. Inayah: Life after Gods is coming to PC and consoles in 2025, no set release date yet.
