While Xbox has been under pressure from other devs about their lack of communication Stalker 2 developer GSC Game World has nothing but good things to say about the platform holder.
Speaking to The Gamer, the companies PR manager Zakhar Bocharov spoke about a variety of things for the upcoming game including Xbox's support and how they don't put pressure on the developer or dictate things such as a release date.

“Microsoft doesn’t put any demands in terms of the release date or the content. They’re not our publishers. It’s just the Game Pass deal,” says Bocharov. “Personally, I never expected a corporation of this size to be so supportive. I can't say the exact cases, but they helped in situations where they were not exactly supposed to. So, they could easily [have said], "˜No, that’s not on us. That’s with you guys. Good luck. Figure it out.’"
Bocharov would go on to say that without the company and specifically Phil Spencer their situation would be much different. As many know the game has seen many delays due to the war in Ukraine (GSC is based in Ukraine).
Bocharov said Spencer has been "very supportive and caring". "I never expected a corporation to be this close to the developers who are in a bad situation," Bocharov said. "It was spectacular. That’s the professional connection we value a lot, because it would have been much different without them."
Story DLC And Free Updates Confirmed
Also during the interview Stalker 2’s lead producer Slava Lukyanenka said that players can expect at least “two big story expansions" as well as “several small, free DLC updates." We can also expect to see mod support.

Lukyanenka also went on to say that while they were hesitant at first to do a performance mode which sacrifices resolution they are happy they have got the game up and running at 60fps on the Xbox Series X. The Xbox Series S currently runs at about 35fps however there is “a lot of space for optimization" and that Xbox is helping them do so.
Stalker 2 releases November 20th 2024 on Xbox and PC and will be a day 1 Game Pass release.
