Risk of Rain 2, the roguelite third-person shooter by Hopoo Games is will be getting a native PS5 and Xbox Series release to tie in with the launch of the Stormseekers Expansion.
The upgrade will be available at no extra cost when you purchase Risk of Rain 2, and existing owners will be upgraded for free when the update goes live on 27 August.
Commenting via their YouTube page, Gearbox, the publishers for the title said:
“Alongside the Seekers of the Storm expansion, we're making our official debut on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5!
For a long time now, folks have been able to play the existing PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions on their next gen consoles. But now they'll have the real deal. All new and existing players will be upgraded for free! And that upgrade isn't just a sprinkling of performance optimization"”oh no"”it brings split-screen couch co-op and a handful of fun, platform-specific features.”

The upgrade includes:
- Split-Screen Local Multiplayer
- 4k Resolution
- 60 FPS
- Activities (PS5)
- Progressive Trophies (PS5)
- DualSense Light Bar colour mapping (PS5)
- DualSense Controller Sounds (PS5)
- Progressive Achievements (Xbox Series)
How are we feeling about this update? Sounds like a huge win to me. Though I have yet to give Risk of Rain 2 a go it looks great! Will certainly be adding it to the ever-increasing list of games I want to play!!!!!!
