Today at the opening night life of Gamescom developer MachineGames and Xbox have unveiled the release date of their long awaited take on the Indiana Jones IP with Indiana Jones And The Great Circle, as well as confirming the game will be coming later to PlayStation.
Indiana Jones And The Great Circle will be available on Xbox and PC on December 9th 2024 with a release coming Spring 2025 on PlayStation 5. This announcement continues the recent launches of previous Xbox first party games on the rival PlayStation console.
At the time of its announcement it was seen as a big win for Xbox to get such a big IP as an exclusive, however since then things have changed at Xbox as they take a more multiplatform approach. This decision had been rumoured over the weekend and caused quite the outrage on social media.

What impact this will have on Xbox's core business remains to be seen but for now it is another step towards less exclusivity for Xbox. As for the game itself it is looking quite good and is a strong way to bookend the year for Xbox, which has quite a strong lineup of games planned.
We will likely see a deeper dive later this week during one of Xbox's Gamescom shows so keep an eye out for that.
