Update: It has now surpassed Palworld for second all time.
Original Story:
Black Myth: Wukong is quickly becoming one of the biggest games in modern history as it shatters records on Steam and takes over social media.
Having released yesterday on the eve of Gamescom, Black Myth: Wukong is putting up very impressive numbers having already topped 2 million concurrent users on Steam as of this writing. To put that into perspective it is the 3rd largest concurrent player base in the history of Steam behind only Palworld (2.1 million) and PUBG (3.25 million). Palworld's numbers certainly appear in reach and perhaps even PUBG's.

Of course this also means Black Myth is the biggest ever single player release on steam based on concurrent users having surpassed Cyberpunk 2077 and Elden Ring. With Black Myth being on both Epic Games Store and PlayStation 5, these numbers are likely much higher.
Despite having it's share of controversy with developer Game Science not letting reviewers have PlayStation 5 codes, it's sudden delay on Xbox consoles and it's odd directive sent to content creators, it hasn't seemed to have any effect on the interest in the game inspired by Chinese novel Journey To The West.
It will be very interesting to watch how high Black Myth: Wukong can get on Steam. Are you playing Black Myth? If so let us know how you are enjoying it!
