Gamestop Shuts Down Gameinformer

After 33 years, the longest running video game magazine is being shut down. Kotaku reported that staff was brought in on Aug 2nd and told by the Gamestop VP that everyone was laid off effective immediately. This story is still developing and we will continue to share as we learn more.

Gameinformer is a magazine I grew up with and hold a lot of love for them. To hear this is just so devastating. First Rooster Teeth, and now Gameinformer. 2024 just wont stop taking. My thoughts and prayers are with those without a job today.

Here is the tweet from Gameinformer regarding their closer.

Nathan Lockhart

I am a husband and father of two. I've been passionate about video games since I picked up a Nintendo 64 controller to play Mario 64. My favorite game of all time is The Mass Effect Collection and Halo is my go to mulitplayer. Find me on all platforms under ONE HOT DRAGON. My X handle is ONE_HOT_DRAGON.
