The First Descendants Passes 10 Million Players In 7 Days

If you’ve been wondering why everyone has been talking about The First Descendant of late the answer appears to be everyone and their mother is trying it out.

Today the First Descendant X account posted that the game has crossed the 10 million player milestone in it’s first 7 days. For those unaware, The First Descendant is a free to play game available on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X and PlayStation 4/5. 10 million players in a week is quite the accomplishment for any game let alone a new IP.

The game has had it’s fair share of controversy already. The community seems quite split on just how good the game is. As of this writing it has a mixed 52% rating from Steam users. It’s not fairing much better from critics either sitting at a 57 on metacritic. For those interested we were also quite mixed on the game. You can reach our review here.

There’s also the matter of the games badge icon’s looking very similar to Destiny 2 badge icons. The studio has said they will address and change these icons.

Regardless it seems The First Descendant is enjoying some early success which is always a good thing.
