Activision unveils new studio, Elsewhere Entertainment.

Elsewhere Entertainment, a studio focusing on the development of, “narrative-based and genre-defining AAA franchise.” has just been announced by Activision.

We don’t know much about the new studio yet, but in an article from IGN on it’s reported that the team includes industry veterans that have worked on games like The Last of Us, The Division, Far Cry and The Witcher 3.

Badged as “storytelling experts” the focus of this new studio is creating a “state-of-the-art and next-generation gaming experience”, completely unrelated to CoD, which over the years has become one of Activision’s main focus areas.

There’s not a lot of extra information about the studio or the game at the moment, but maybe we’ll see more at the Xbox Showcase in June!

I’m personally a big fan of narrative focus on games, so it’ll be exciting to see what comes out of this new venture.
