Highlighted on the official Playstation Blog, Sea of Thieves topped the European most downloaded charts for April 2024. It also charted at 3rd place in the US/Canada.

Sea of Thieves was one of 4 Microsoft games confirmed to be being ported to Playstation in a February announcement with the others (Pentiment, Hifi Rush and Grounded) releasing earlier in April.

Xbox said during the announcement that these would be the only 4 games being ported currently, with Phil Spencer commenting “I don’t think we should as an industry ever rule out a game going to any other platform.”

It remains to be seen how the success of big multiplayer titles like Sea of Thieves on other platforms may shape strategy in future.
