A new studio with leadership experience, Starlight Games, was announced today in a press release.
The studio is described as “A new Liverpool based studio bringing innovative experiences and empowering young talent in Unreal Engine 5.”
Senior management at the company includes industry veterans such as WipEout co-creator Nick Burcombe as well as Design Director and Producer Andy Santos, who worked on franchises such as Skate, the Resident Evil franchise and most recently Horizon: Call of the Mountain.
They’ll be joined by Production Director Ben Cronin, who was a founding team member of Gamesys, the company behind Jackpotjoy, the UK’s biggest online bingo provider.
The team put out a teaser trailer for an upcoming project.
In addition to the studio reveal, the new company also announceed House of Golf 2 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S releasing in Summer 2024.
Two additional games are also in development, an “exciting futuristic sports title,” which is being directed by Nick Burcombe, with more details to be revealed in the coming months.
The studio is also working on a strategy sci-fi rogue-lite action experience that they state will be revealed soon. Also, they have several Unreal Engine Fortnite experiences in the work lead by the team’s young new talent, the first of which is Jungle Jam and will launch at the end of April 2024.
House of Golf 2 is a sequel to the successful House of Golf released on the Nintendo Switch in 2019. The new game is developed in Unreal 5, and it takes the fun approach of mini-golf and brings it into the home with over 100 courses, gorgeous visuals, weekly tournaments and many other ways to play according to the company.
