Bungie sheds light on Destiny 2: The Final Shape

The video started with Bungie game director Luke Smith talking about the upcoming expansion.

According to Smith The Final Shape is a culmination of a 10 year journey for the Guardians, but says “It’s not the end for Destiny 2 or the end of Destiny.

The team then showcased more upcoming footage before discussing the nature of the game, going into the heart of the traveler to face the Witness.

In addition to some of the storyline notes, they revealed the new Prismatic sub-class coming to the game, which will allow players to combine light and darkness powers.

A showcase of the Prismatic sub-class gameplay revealed light and dark meters that fill separately, but when both sides are full, it unlocks a “new level of power” according to the developers, who said it feels “just a little bit game breaking”.

What came next is surely to be exciting for Destiny players as they showcased the new exotics for The Final Shape, which will allow players to steal powers from other exotic weapons to make unique combinations.

These new exotic blends will feed into the Prismatic subclass according to the team.

Finally they showcased the Dread enemy faction along with the number of new enemy types that will be introduced in the expansion.

With Destiny 2: The Final Shape launching on June 4 of this year, the showcase ended with them announcing Into the Light, which begins today and will run through June 3, the “Road to the Final Shape.”
