Sea of Thieves getting new content, including weapons!

Many updates coming to Sea of Thieves this year were revealed during Rare’s recent Sea of Thieves 2024 Preview Event.

Some of the improvements coming to the game include a fresh loadout system, network improvements and new weapons including a double-barreled pistol and throwing knives.

Additionally, there will be three new tools: multi-cannonball scattershot rounds, a friendly skeleton summoning Bone Caller, and the Windcaller, which can summon the power of wind for a boost or to push away enemies.

Season 12 will introduce several traversal mechanics to include zip lines in Outposts, skeleton forts and the ability to balance or slide on harpoon lines.

Later this year, Season 13 will see Captain Flameheart return to the game along with a reimagined Burning Blade ship. In a unique twist, players who defeat the Burning Blade will be given the opportunity to board it and pledge themselves to Flameheart, ultimately gaining control of the ship and becoming the world event themselves.

Season 14 will add new stealth mechanics for silent movement, crouching and the ability to hide in chests for sneaky sea faring gamers. There will also be additional tools and weapons such as a grapple gun and a multifunctional blow dart, which can be used to track players and ships.

In addition to the changes coming to Sea of Thieves this year the game is about to receive an influx of new players as it’s been tracking very well on PS5’s preorder chart ahead of its launch there on April 30.
