GOG.com just announced via a blog post that they are teaming up with Amazon Luna. What does this mean for you? Well, all those games in your GOG account will now be played on your Amazon Luna. If you are subscribed to Luna you will be able to access those games directly from your GOG library!
There is not an abundance of information just yet as its only just been announced. But the announcement alone is more than enough to cause some interesting conversation around the future of gaming.
Now while this might not be extremely exciting for some, this is a great step forward. If you have been gaming on PC for more than a day, you probably know by now you need 100 different game launchers to launch your games. This is a step towards consolidating that. How awesome would it be if we continued to keep seeing partnerships like this one?
Hop on your Amazon Luna and have access to Epic, Steam, GOG, ubisoft, EA, and Rockstar libraries all in one place. Not just one place, but on the cloud.
Even if that premise doesn’t excite you too much, the ability to combine the two libraries adds more incentive to use their services. Equally important, will hopefully motivate competitors to start teaming up in the same way.
What do you think? Is combining libraries good for the gaming industry or do you see this being a mistake in the future? Let us know in the comments!
