Hello readers and welcome the launch of Gamer Social Club!

My name is Dan Jackson, though most of you probably know me as Danno. Over the last few years I have built up a relatively large following through X (@danno_omen) as someone who mostly covers Xbox related content and you’ve probably seen a post or two of mine advocating for physical games to stick around. In the beginning of 2024 I started up a “gaming book club” meant to highlight a game or two every month, typically ones that flew under the radar, and get like-minded gamers all playing and talking about it. That life-long passion for gaming is what brings us to the launch of this website.

 Today is both an exciting and anxiety filled day. I have no idea how this is going to go, if it will succeed or not. What I do know is I have the upmost confidence in my fellow writers that are joining me on this endeavor and I hope over time you will as well and continue to support us! Now I know some of you are reading this and saying “Danno, podcasts are all the rage these days, why the heck would you start a website instead”? While it is a fair question to ask, anyone that knows me knows I tend to zig when others zag. What I do know is for years now I’ve constantly heard the chatter online, both when talking to me and just in general threads all across the internet.

“I don’t trust journalists”

“I want to hear from actual gamers”

“I’m tired of influencers who don’t even play games they just get paid to promote them”

I’ve heard it (hell I’ve even said it myself on many occasions) and that is the premise of what I am launching today. The Gamer Social Club is first and foremost written by everyday gamers. We aren’t journalists, we aren’t insiders and we definitely aren’t paid off. This isn’t meant as a slight to journalists as a lot of them are great, but I know there is a market out there that just wants to hear this stuff from gamers, and that is what we aim to deliver.

So if you are here for the latest inside scoop, you will probably be disappointed. But if you are here because you want to read about the latest news or a review from someone who is quite literally just a regular gamer like yourself, covering all platforms and doing our absolute best to be unbiased, then I hope you stick it out with us and we can make you proud to be gamers.

I can’t wait to show you what we all have been cooking up, and as always enjoy this amazing hobby we call video games!
