The first look at gameplay for the upcoming Alkahest has been revealed at the recent Triple-i-Initiative showcase.
Alkahest is an action-adventure RPG set in a “murky medieval world”. In the Kingdom of Kadanor, you will play the son of a petty lord and you want to prove yourself. To do so, you will be investigating goblin raids, as well as exploring castles, forests and villages.
The hook of Alkahest’s combat is a highly interactive environment where you can drop trees on enemies heads, kick them off cliffs or set them on fire. You also have access to daggers, relics potions and other things you can find, like a rope!

But you won’t be just swinging swords in this first-person action adventure. No, instead of magic, which you might expect, you’ll be using the wonders of alchemy. You will be able to follow recipes or mix ingredients however you like to get the advantage in battle. You can use your concoctions as throwables, or maybe a weapon oil, put it in an NPC’s pocket or even quaff it yourself!
It sounds like a lot of fun, and I’m intrigued to see more. Will you be checking Alkahest out?
