What to Expect
I’ve personally been taken by the upcoming RPG simply because of it’s really stunning art style. The 2.5D pixel-art draws me like a moth to flame. The decidedly old school visuals are combined with a smooth animation and motion that just makes the entire presentation pop. If you’re looking for other games with similar styles, think Octopath Traveler, Star Ocean Second Story R, and some of the recent Dragon Quest remakes.
Like those RPGs, you can expect plenty of huge bosses, monster battles, and puzzle filled dungeons to traipse through, as well as a unique cooking system. Classic RPG components like leveling, skill trees, equipment and consumables are all present as well. One aspect that’s piqued my curiosity is that you’ll be watching various communities around the world grow and expand as you play the game. A great way to show the fruits of your dungeon crawling labor.
Alabaster Dawn enters early access next month, on May 7th. If you’re even the slightest bit interested in Alabaster Dawn hop over to Steam and try the demo that’s available now!
