Brain Jar Games has officially announced the launch of Dead as Disco into Early Access on Steam and Epic Games Store at the Triple-i Initiative Showcase. The neon-drenched rhythm beat ’em up will go live on May 5, 2026.
The Early Access release introduces the complete first story arc, featuring over 30 original songs and the innovative ‘My Music’ system that allows players to sync their own music with gameplay. The game has already garnered significant hype, with a viral demo that reached 1.2 million players. We were lucky enough to get hands on with it at Gamescom last year, playing through the first level and boss fight – and if you haven’t tried the demo now is the time to try it out and get to grips with the gameplay before the Early Access launch.
In the game, players control Charlie Disco as he fights his way through battles against ex-bandmates known as the Idols, with all combat mechanics synchronised to the game’s original soundtrack. The Early Access version builds on the success of the summer 2025 demo, which earned a 98% positive Steam review rating from over 5,000 users.
