Call of the Elder Gods, a direct sequel to the 2020 narrative puzzle game Call of the Sea, will be released on May 12, 2026, for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles. The title will also be a day-one addition to the Xbox Game Pass library, according to an official announcement from the developers. The sequel picks up thirty years after the events of the original title, shifting the setting to the grounds of Miskatonic University and expanding the scope of its mystery-focused gameplay.
The game features a broader narrative scope than its predecessor, with locations spanning from the Arctic circle to the Australian desert and the city of Pnakotus. In a statement regarding the casting, the studio confirmed that Cissy Jones will reprise her role as Evangeline Drayton, and Yuri Lowenthal will take on the role of Professor Harry Everhart. The developers have also emphasised that the project builds upon the established mechanics of environmental observation and puzzle-solving found in the first title, prioritising narrative exploration over action-oriented gameplay.
For those interested in giving the game a go early, a demo titled The First Chapter is currently available on Steam. The developers confirmed that save progress from this demo will carry over to the final retail release.
