PAX East 2026 – Day Two (Friday) Recap

It’s Day Two of GSC’s PAX East 2026 coverage! We’ll be taking a look at all of the titles that we had a chance to see on Friday at this year’s PAX East. Be sure to check out the prior day’s coverage here.

Candy and I’s day started with a decent amount of time at Soft Source Publishing. We’ll be providing an additional piece on them, solely because of how much was on display at PAX East from them alone!

And with that…let’s launch into everything that we got a chance to see at Day Two of PAX East 2026!

God Save Birmingham

There are many survival crafting games out there in this day and age. From Icarus to 7 Days to Die, each entry into the genre provides their own unique spin on the gameplay mechanics. God Save Birmingham is no different, in that this survival crafting game…is set in medieval Birmingham. No technology, no modern assets – just you, some poultices, and hordes of undead peasants.

God Save Birmingham really made me feel…completely alone, as the sole survivor in this undead world. In the tutorial, I was taught how to move, how to fight, and how to survive. I have to say – this game. Does. Not. Let. You. Breathe. Every moment seems to be fraught with impending peril. Most “safer” locations happen to working doors, but these don’t stop the dead completely. It only delays them.

God Save Birmingham is currently in development, but recently closed their invitation-only Alpha test. Fingers crossed for your survival fans that the Early Access Beta will be coming soon!

Poly Fighter

  • Developer & Publisher: HeartLoop Games
  • Release Date: TBA
  • Platform: PC (Steam)

As we enter into the year 2026, more and more developers are finding ways to merge together unique gameplay genres. Take Poly Fighter for example – an upcoming project from HeartLoop Games that is merging together the genres of fighting games…and roguelikes. So, Slay the Spire 2 meets Street Fighter. We love to see it!

Poly Fighter boasts a unique gameplay mechanic where the player progresses along a tree, much like Slay the Spire, fighting various and unique opponents along the way. Each victory earns you upgrades to your own abilities, along with the option to take powers and attacks from vanquished foes. See where this is STRONGLY getting into the roguelike genre? I actually spoke with the lead developer for a few moments about our recent crippling addiction to Slay the Spire 2.

Poly Fighter currently does not have a release date, but is something that is going to be truly unique and one-of-a-kind, when it comes to the blending of various game genres.

Reclaim! Azhe-giiwewining

I cannot state how much of an absolute pleasure it was to be able to demo Reclaim! Azhe-giiwewining, as well as speak with one of the members of the team over at Grassroots Indigenous Multimedia. Reclaim! Azhe-giiwewining is a point & click puzzle game rooted in the culture, language and tradition of the Ojibwe.

In Reclaim! Azhe-giiwewining, the player will be assuming the role of Miskwaa, a young Ojibwe girl from the city who finds herself lost in the woods. In order to return home, Miskwaa will need to brush up her Ojibwemowin, as well as explore what it means to be Ojibwe in a modern world.

There is such a beautiful story being told here when it comes to identity in a world where you do not always feel at home in either facet of your background, and rest assured – you will be seeing a review of Reclaim! Azhe-giiwewining from me in the near future!

Reclaim! Azhe-giiwewining is currently out now on Steam and has a demo version available to try out!

Farmbotic

  • Developer & Publisher: Frozen Way Games
  • Release Date: 2026
  • Platforms: PC (Steam & Epic), Xbox, and PlayStation

I have played my fair share of farming simulator games, going all the way back to Harvest Moon. It’s still a genre of game that I still love so many years later, so you know that I had to check out Farmbotic when I saw the Press Invitation come across my emails prior to PAX East.

Farmbotic is a first-person perspective farming simulator where you will be aided by…bots! A first, to my memory, when it comes to all of the farming sim games that I have played. The demo at PAX East gave me just a taste of what was to come in this title. But it was just enough of a taste to say “I want more!”.

The biggest feature, from what I can tell, in Farmbotic is that you’re ultimately seeking to automate the workings of your farm. Which let’s be honest – those higher-end farms can be a LOT of work to maintain. Along with the running of your farm, you’ll be exploring the depths of the local mine, which is (naturally) teeming with mutated inhabitants that want to make a snack out of you! And as with any farming sim game, you’ll also be lending a hand to your neighbors and local townsfolk.

Farmbotic is looking to see a 2026 launch to PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.

Nekomancer of Nowhere

I actually had the chance to see the developers of Standing Cat Games at PAX East 2025. They’re now veterans of the PAX scene, and I had a chance to speak with them further at this year’s PAX East. They’re now also the proud parents of their officially launched title Nekomancer of Nowhere.

Nekomancer of Nowhere is an isometric 3D puzzle game where you play as the Nekomancer. In order to harness the powers of your “nekomancy”, you’ll be drawing your glyphs on the screen. These will help to both fend off the dead, as well as flip between the realms of life and death. You’ll need all of those powers to free all of the ghosts trapped in Tombstone Tower.

Nekomancer of Nowhere is currently out on Steam!

Thus concludes our second day at PAX East! Did we tempt you with anything new in this piece? Did I miss a hidden gem somewhere? Leave a comment below! And if you’re looking to connect with other gamers like us, join us over at the Gamer Social Club Discord!
