Have you made it through all 15 levels that Grind Survivors offers, and are now dreading the 3 40-minute run achievements? Don’t worry, as we’ll guide you through the best setup, preparation you need to take, and what perks to go for once in the run.
As always, be sure to check out our review of Grind Survivors, as well as refer back to the beginner’s guide if you need a refresher on weapon upgrading for these runs.
Be Prepared
Seeing as how these runs set you up for failure, you’re going to want to be as prepared as you can be. There are a few different things you’ll want to keep in mind, such as skill points, runes, and weapons.
Skill Points
Honestly, you’re going to want enough hell dust to max all the skill points out. You can get away with not having all of them for the Burned Forest Infinite run, but for Bastion and Scorched Grounds, you’re going to want any possible benefits these skills can give you, so that means maxing out.
If you don’t have enough dust to max everything and don’t want to do a bunch of half runs, feel free to reset and reallocate. The ones you for sure are going to want are the damage, critical chance percentage, the purple and double XP chances, as well as the health. Remember, you will need at least 1 point in each previous skill to get to the final skills, so just keep that in mind.

Runes
Runes are going to help keep you alive and give you that extra damage boost. Make sure you have all 10 rune slots available. By now, you should have a decent amount of runes available to you. You want to run a few that will help your survivability, and then want 1 or 2 damaging runes. The damage runes are completely up to you based on your play style, so pick wisely.
If you’re having trouble trying to get a particular rune and want to know how to unlock it, head over to the codex section and check out the achievements; they will show the criteria for unlocking and how far along you are towards it.

Weapons
Nothing is going to be more important than making sure you have the right weapon for the run. Obviously, you will want a weapon you are comfortable with, as well as fully maxed out. I found the Tesla gun, the sword, and the shotgun to be the best weapons during these runs. Like the runes, go with whatever gun you feel the best at. I completed an infinite run with every weapon, sans the revolver, as the revolver just doesn’t do enough for the sheer amount of crowds you’ll face.
In terms of upgrading, make sure you’re using a rank 15 weapon. Get it up to legendary, and then I would try to improve it to level 4 at minimum. If you have the ashes to where you don’t mind having to reset the levels, try for level 5 or 6. Once that is done, reforge until you have your weapon stats where the majority of them are to the right, and then you’re good to start.

The Run
Once you start the run, the perks you are going to want to aim for right away are the XP perks, as well as the dodge perks. You need to make headway on earning levels right away, as well as getting your Dodge up to avoid hits. Try to get 2 or 3 perks for each category before moving to another set of perks. If you spread your perks across too many categories, you’re not going to get the synergy bonuses you need.
You will also want to focus on moving around and grabbing all the altars you can find. These will help give you the boosts needed to make these runs manageable. If you see any of the ability cooldown or increase dodge altars, those are especially useful in the beginning. You’re going to want the full 70% dodge, as well as close to 1 second ability cooldown. Just keep moving around, focus on the minibosses and take them out before the actual bosses show up, as the limited space during the fight can be harder to manage if you have more enemies to target.

You can grab multiple of the same perks in the infinite runs, so anytime you see any of the damage or critical chance perks, grab those. You’re going to need to get as much damage as you can, and having either 100% or close to critical hit chance can really help these runs go far. You only need to hit the 40-minute mark, so if you want to purposely run into the enemy after that, you may.
Finale
Ultimately, any runs towards this are going to be up to fate. If you’re getting bad rolls pretty early in the run, it might just be worth starting over and hoping you get some better perks. This guide hopefully gave you ideas on how best to start up your run, and I hope it helped.
