Legacy of Kain: Ascendance is the sixth instalment in the Legacy of Kain series, taking it in new directions with its 2D sidescrolling action and four protagonists. Most of the challenges you’ll face can be solved by blade or fang, but a couple require more than strength and tenacity. Lorekeeper of Nosgoth Trophy Guide
The Lorekeeper of Nosgoth trophy/achievement requires that you answer all of Ariel’s riddles correctly in Chapter 5, The Bargain.
During a unique 3D sequence, Elaleth is approached by the ghost of Ariel during her first meeting with Kain at the Pillars. Ariel states that the vampire must answer her riddles, a thinly veiled lore dump about the LoK series.
You need to give the correct answer the first time to each of the ghost’s riddles. You’ll know if you’ve given the wrong answer, as Kain will give you a second riddle to give you another chance to answer correctly. If this happens, just pause and restart the level.
The correct answer to each is as follows:
- Mind
- Dimension
- Conflict
- Nature
- Balance
- Energy
- Time
- States
- Death
With all the correct answers given the first time, the Lorekeeper of Nosgoth trophy/achievement will unlock once the game returns to its regular 2D appearance.
Willful Ignorance Trophy Guide
Of course, if you’re trying to unlock the Willful Ignorance trophy/achievement, you need to do the exact opposite and give both wrong answers before giving Ariel the correct one to each of her riddles.
Kain will tell you a second riddle for a second chance at the answer, and then will insult you when you only have the correct answer left.
Here are all the incorrect answers, just in case:
- Insight / Will
- Veil / Realms
- Valor / Dominion
- The Wild / Genesis
- Equilibrium / Unity
- Tempest / Vitalis
- Chronos / Destiny
- Transcience / Substance
- Oblivion / Shade
After giving all of the incorrect answers first and dealing with Kain’s barrage of imaginative putdowns, you’ll unlock the Willful Ignorance trophy/achievement!
