Time to lock and load Gears! The summer Xbox Games Showcase 2026 along with a Gears of War: E-Day Direct have been confirmed.
Confirming the news via Xbox Wire, Microsoft have shared the dates and times we can take a look at “the future of gaming”. As is somewhat of a tradition now, the Xbox Games Showcase will take place on the Sunday of Summer Game Fest weekend.
That means you can get a look at first gameplay looks and news from both Xbox first-party studios and third-party partners. Microsoft are promising “biggest franchises” and “soon-to-be indie darlings” for the event. The main Xbox Games Showcase 2026 will air on Sunday 7 June at 10am PST / 1pm EST / 6pm UK times.
Immediately after the Xbox Games Showcase will be something I am incredibly excited for, an in depth look at Gears of War: E-Day in game focussed Direct. Developers, The Coalition will be taking us through the start of Emergence Day, showcasing new details, gameplay and insights into the Gears origin story.

- EDT: June 7, 1pm
- BST: June 7, 6pm

I am giddy at the prospect of seeing what Xbox has to show, especially with a focus on Gears of War: E-Day. Surely we’ll be getting a release date for the game since it’s still on track (hopefully) to release this year! What are you hoping to see?
