During today’s Mundo Gamer Showcase – which you can catchup on all the news from here – Mowlo Games have shared more on their upcoming thriller, Hollow Mire.
Hollow Mire is a British thriller, set with the grim backdrop of post-WWII England. A nation recovering from six years of bleak global war, ruined cities and destroyed families. The game follows a war hero, John who returns from the Western Front where he served in the D-Day landings which shaped the outcome of the world’s greatest conflict.
Upon John’s return home, his daughter and wife have gone missing. In his new life as a journalist, he is dispatched to Breken House where the game’s mystery, and story of his vanished family will unravel.
Impressively, Hollow Mire is completely hand-drawn, with environments looking to capture Britain in a 1952 blizzard. With eight endings to arrive at based on the decisions you make, there’ll be plenty of replayability here. Mowlo Games’ title is surprisingly fully voice acted too.
I’d not came across this one before the showcase but it’s one that I’ve immediately added to my wishlist and will be checking out the Steam demo ahead of Gamer Social Club’s April issue of the Demo Disc.
Hollow Mire will release on PC only. A demo is available now via Steam, with a full release date TBC.
Meanwhile, if you’re looking for a British narrative adventure but one that’s a little cosier, be sure to check out the great Sips and Sonnets which we loved in our review.
