1348 Ex Voto tells the tale of a young knight-errant, Aeta, who is looking for her cherished friend Bianca. She has been taken, and Aeta must fight through a plague-ridden medieval Italy to save her. The game boasts ‘historical European Martial Arts’ as core to its combat, as well as a cinematic medieval Italy to explore. Not only that, but it has Jennifer English (Clair Obscur: Expedition 33) playing Bianca alongside seasoned theatre actor Alby Baldwin. Stay tuned for our review coming soon.
1348 Ex Voto is available now for PC and PS5. An Xbox Series version was in development but was cancelled.
1348 Ex Voto: Chapter 9 – Castle Collectibles Guide
In 1348 Ex Voto, you will collect sheet of paper. These sheets of paper count as skill points, so you can upgrade your health, guard and unlock new attacks, amongst other things. They are scattered throughout the chapters of the game as you play. Some easy to find, some a little more well hidden.
There are also sword parts, treasures and trinkets to find too.
We have listed the locations we have found below. There may be more to find in a level and if so we’ll do our best to update the guide as we find more.
The + numbers next to the location title is how many ‘skill points’ you’ll receive in each location that are papers.
These are listed in the order they were found.
Paper (1 / 8) – +5
As you climb into the castle walls at the start of the chapter. You’ll head down some stairs into a quite expansive courtyard / keep area. In the centre you should spot a table with lots of items on it, one of which is the paper.
Paper (2 / 8) – +10
You’ll need to head to the back left of the courtyard / keep area and pull out the tall cart. Move the cart back, under the wooden structure and out the otherside.
If you line it up correctly you will see it creates a walk way across the tops to wooden ledge to the centre (overlooking the forge area). once you’ve jumped across don’t forget to chop the crate down with your sword so you can easily get back up if you fall.
Go up the stairs to the next level and the paper will be on a table on the edge, again looking down towards the forge-y type space.
Weapon Part (1 / 2) – Ultima Guard
From the paper above, turn around and go to the winch. Turn the wheel to raise the platform. Once done jump across and go over the now raised platform.
Once across, go into the stone structure and you’ll find the weapon part on a wooden table.
Paper (3 / 8) – +10
After taking out all the enemies in the courtyard area, after the gate closes on you. You’ll have headed up, raised the gate and gone through the previously shut gate (after the tried to trap you). Enter the next big area and head to the left. Crawl into the chapel and look to your left, on one of the pews is the paper
Weapon Part (2 / 2) – Ultima Blade
Go to the back left of the church and spot the hole in the wall. Crawl through and ascend the ledges to take you up. Jump across the two platforms until you reach a place where you can jump down again. At the bottom you’ll spot a body and the blade.
If you’ve followed these collectible guides you should now have unlocked the Blacksmith Trophy / Achievement.
Paper (4 / 8) – +10
Crossing back across the large space from the chapel you’ll now head to the other side and continue onwards. Take out the enemies and ascend into the castle structure. On your way you’ll spot some shelves whilst inside where the next set of papers can be found.
Paper (5 / 8) – +10
You’ll enter a corridor with two doors, one in front of you, and one just to the right. Don’t worry they connect, but head to the one on the right first. In there, on the table to the left of the room is some paper.
Papers (6 / 8) +10
After a fair bit of combat, you’ll head up some stairs inside and go down a short corridor. Aeta will say something about not sounding like she’s being chased. Head to the door on your left to come to a big room with a long table in it. The paper is on there.
Trinket (1 / 1) – Signet Ring
In the same room as the papers above, head to the large open window and jump out. Cross the tiles and jump into the window you can see to your right. On a table in there is the trinket.
Paper (7 / 8) +10
Return to the corridor and head through the other door you can see and go up the stairs. You will be in the Lord’s private chambers. Head into the rightside of the chamber and in an alcove on the back wall (to the left) is the paper.
Paper (8 / 8) +10
As you leave the Lord’s chambers, you’ll enter a bit of a garden area. Your exit is to the right, you should see another door, just to the left of the one you need to go into (there’s an enemy in that one).
Head into the room on the left and agains the wall on the left are two chairs and a small table. The paper is on that table
If you’ve followed our guides you should have enough paper to unlock every skill and earn the ‘Duelist’ Trophy / Achievement.
