Shenmue III is a storied game, from the years spent rallying around Sega and creator Yu Suzuki to continue the series, to the many controversies its Kickstarter campaign brought, and the many delays it suffered before its launch in November 2019.
During last year’s Gamescom, publisher ININ Games announced that it had acquired the rights to Shenmue III and is working with original developer YS Net to create an enhanced version of Shenmue III. This new version will improve the original game’s graphics, bringing the resolution up to 4K, with increased NPC density and a camera option similar to the original two games.
Today, ININ Games and YS Net have revealed the first trailer for this new version of Shenmue III, along with details of the collector’s edition that will release with the game later this year. The will release in three versions; a standard edition, a special edition, and a collector’s edition.
The special edition comes in a collector’s edition box with a Blu-ray disc featuring a documentary titled “The Definitive History of Shenmue” in a jewel case. The collector’s edition features the same Blu-ray in its own dedicated case, alongside a massive statue showcasing Ryu Hazuki training, a collection art pieces, a wooden scroll, and a key chain. The special and collector’s editions are available in limited quantities.

The physical versions are available to pre-order now on ININ Games’ website. The publisher has also confirmed that the Nintendo Switch 2 physical release will be a full game card release.
Shenmue III Enhanced will release on PC, PS5, Switch 2, Xbox Series X/S in Q4 2026.
