Stupid Never Dies Gameplay Trailer Shown at Future Games Show

After being teased at the game awards a few months back, Stupid Never Dies showed off it’s gameplay and it looks wild. Featuring a pop punk / horror mix aesthetic, the game follows a zombie named Davy. He’s a timid zombie who has never fought before, but love changes that. Davy journeys to save a girl named Julia who’s been frozen after fleeing during the great war into a freezer.

Gameplay looks like a hilariously violent Hack n Slash akin to Gori : Cuddly Carnage. Davy gains power by absorbing different enemies. Did we say absorbing? We really mean by eating the enemy’s core. This will grant him an array of abilities from transforming into huge monsters, summon tidal waves or summon machine guns out of nowhere.

Through absorbing an enemy’s core, his appearance also may change. In addition to his default style, players can look forward to acquiring 10 other styles. Some of these include werewolf, harpy, and golem. This game does look to bring not only fantastic gameplay, but also quite a bit of style with it.

Here we see a quick peak at the Vampire Style that also allows for controlling of bats.

Unique to the action game genre is the fact that Davy is on a timer before he has the leave the dungeon he’s fighting through. As Davy levels up, he’ll get more time to get through the dungeon. This mechanic sort of reminds me of Wario Land 4 where Wario would have to race against time in after finishing a level.

Stupid Never Dies is the debut game of GPTRACK50. The studio helmed by DMC veteran Hiroyuki Kobayashi. Stupid Never Dies could be a game that scratches the action game itch before games like phantom blade zero and a likely new entry in the Devil May Cry series.

There isn’t a release date for Stupid Never Dies yet but it’s aiming for a release in 2026 with PC via Steam and PS5 being the confirmed platforms. Do you believe in love enough to help Davy possibly get his first girlfriend? Will you be adding this to your wishlist? Let us know in the comments down below.

A lifelong gamer who enjoys playing on every platform. Eventually, I grew to love fighting games in particular and began to compete and even win competitions for some games, primarily the 2013 revival of killer instinct. Outside of gaming I also have aspirations of being a comic book artist with a few ideas of my own im developing in my head. When reviewing any game I try to keep my mind open and avoid nitpicking too much. It takes a lot for something to detract me from truly enjoying it so I may not focus on smaller details the way some others might do. I enjoy almost any genre, just don't ask me to play horror games or puzzle games.
