Silver Pines is the Twin Peaks Vibe, Horror Metroidvania You Need to Watch

One of the finest pieces of television ever, Twin Peaks still gets its tentacles of inspiration into contemporary media to this day. In the video game space, it is entirely apparent in games like Alan Wake 2, the very good Karma: The Dark World and cult-classic, Deadly Premonition.

The moody and atmospheric Pacific Northwest American town feel carries very well to gaming. Now, new Metroidvania, Silver Pines is looking to infuse David Lynch’s masterpiece into this new horror.

Previously featured at the 2025 Autumn Galaxies Gaming Showcase, Silver Pines returned with a new trailer at the Future Games Show, March 2026. The survival horror adventure game from Wych Elm is looking something very promising indeed.

Silver Pines promises to have classic survival horror gameplay with limited resources, tight inventory space and the need to scavenge for any and every item out there. If you’ve been playing the astounding Resident Evil: Requiem recently, you’ll know all about the need to be item frugal.

The most exciting part of Silver Pines is it’s setting. The eerie half-abandoned town is steeped in a mystery. We play as P.I Red Walker who is in Silver Pines to track down Eddie Velvet, a vanished musician. A town full of secrets and supernatural happenings, this small town America location is one I’m deeply excited to unravel.

Silver Pines’ combat is giving vibes from one of my favourite 2.5D adventure games from the Xbox 360-era, Deadlight. Deadlight: Director’s Cut is available, often with a hefty discount, on PC and modern consoles if you’d like to check that out.

Silver Pines arrives on PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch later this year.
