Some games stick with you for long after you even have access to play them. Perhaps its nostalgia, perhaps its that they were just so powerful in their storytelling. If you were a PC gamer back in the early 1990’s, you may have heard of The 7th Guest. Since it’s release in 1993, it’s been ported over to a few different consoles. The 7th Guest also has a VR version released a little less than three years ago. However, it now facing a new generation and a full remake later this year.
In The 7th Guest you play as an amnesiac who is wandering through the mansion. As this character you will try to unravel the mystery of who was the 7th guest. In addition to flashbacks you’ll solve puzzles such as chess problems, pattern matching, and mazes. It will be interesting to see if new puzzles or reworks of previous puzzles will appear in the game. With this being sold as a from the ground up remake, it’s possible it is a true one to one remake.

What we can say for sure is that the actors and visuals have seen quite a few updates. A side by side comparison below shows what the game looks like now compared to it’s original version. The nostalgia for the 90s may exist but personally it feels great to see this classic getting such a loving touch.
