In Under The Island, there are a plethora of fun and challenging activities to do across Seashell Island, many of which have trophies/achievements tied to them. But some can be hard to figure out, or even find in the first place! So, here is our Healthy Explorer trophy/achievement guide for Under The Island!
Check out our Under The Island Review for our full thoughts on the game.
Healthy Explorer Trophy Guide
To unlock the Healthy Explorer trophy/achievement, you need to collect enough Heart Coins to max out your health at 18 hearts. For every four Heart Coins you collect and hand in to M. Uscle in Koala Village, you will add one heart to your health.
You start the game with three hearts and earn a further four more from the Life Juices you earn after beating the four dungeons across Seashell Island as part of the story. That means you need to collect 44 Heart Coins to make up the other 11 hearts. Thankfully, there are more than enough Heart Coins spread across Under The Island; you just need to find them!
What follows is a list of 44 Heart Coins and how to get them.
Heart Coin 1/44
The first Heart Coin to pick up is found in your new house in Koala Village. Go inside and interact with the dresser in your bedroom to find it.

Heart Coin 2/44
Head inside Arno’s Bar in the top left of the village, and interact with the arcade machine on the right. Get a score higher than 10,000 points to earn a Heart Coin.

Heart Coin 3/44
During the story, Lemon will invite you to visit her at her house in Koala Village. She lives in the house on stilts next to the waterfall. Once you have uncovered at least 50%, she will give you a Heart Coin.

Heart Coin 4/44
You’ll get another Heart Coin from Lemon for uncovering the whole map, too!

Heart Coin 5/44
At some point during the main story, you talk to Brina, the girl wearing glasses who walks around Koala Village, and she will ask you to help get her father and uncle to join her for a picnic on Shelly Beach. Speak to both of the men in the village to get them to go, and then head to the beach yourself.

Brina will be waiting for you and will ask you to clear the beach of monsters. Do that, and a scene plays out which ends with Brina running away. Her uncle suggests searching for her at the Fairy Pond.

Head West through Barlu Forest to reach the Fairy Pond, where you’ll find Brina and a strange creature trapped inside a tree trunk. You have to throw the crates that Brina’s uncle drops for you until the creature leaves. After the concluding scene, you will be rewarded with a Heart Coin.

Heart Coin 6/44
Next to Arno’s Bar is a dog house. Go inside and put a dog treat in the empty bowl to open the door at the back. Follow the path through the sewers to find a Heart Coin in a chest.

Heart Coin 7/44
Follow the road going through Koala Village to the left, and before you leave, blow up the cracked wall with a bomb to reveal a cave. Inside, light the two braziers quickly with the Fire Plant to open the door to the right. Through the door, on a balcony, is a chest with a Heart Stone inside.

Heart Coin 8/44
For this Heart Coin, you’ll need the Hiku Bird you unlock at the Lighthouse as part of the story.
Go inside the house across the road from your new house, and go through the door at the back to enter the sewers.

Use your Hiku Bird to pick up the weights and drop them on the large floor switches to lower the stone blocks and clear a path to the doorway on the left. On the otherside is a chest with the Heart Coin in it.

Heart Coin 9/44
There is a hidden sewer entrance behind or underneath Lemon’s home in Koala Village, which you can enter at any time, but you will need the Shovel that you unlock during the story at Igloo Heights to progress.
You need to roll a ball of dirt into the hole in front of the door, but it can be tricky. The trick is to roll up a ball with your shovel facing down, and then walk sideways, forward, then sideways again on the wooden bridge. Behind the door is a balcony with a chest containing a Heart Coin.

Heart Coin 10/44
When you have the Fire Plant, go above M. Uscle’s gym in Koala Village and shoot a fireball at the plants blocking the pushable rock. Once the plants are burned away, push the rock to the left to get access to the tunnel.
Inside, you’ll find a Heart Coin in a chest along with one of the Murals needed for the Storyteller trophy/achievement.

Heart Coin 11/44
Once you have found Trophus on the beach and given him 3 pieces of Wood to build his trophy/achievement museum for the Fluffy New Citizen trophy/achievement, head inside the treehouse near the town hall.
Climb up the ladder in Trophus’ room and grab the Heart Coin in the chest.

Heart Stone 12/44
On your way down to defeat the final boss underneath Koala Village, you’ll reach an area that is just an empty void with large tree roots to walk on. Look out for a fork in your path with a red flower enemy on it. Go past the flower to find some ivy you can climb to find a chest with a Heart Stone inside.

Heart Coin 13/44
Leave Koala Village through the exit blocked by plants to the right of the town hall. On the next screen, cross over the wooden bridge and then go up and behind the tree to reach the chest with a Heart Coin in it.

Heart Coin 14/44
This Heart Coin is a reward for completing the Haunted Nonogram trophy/achievement, which requires you to gain entry to the Cursed Chicken Coop just outside of Koala Village. You will also need the Shovel, which is earned during the story in Igloo Heights.
Follow the road to the left out of Koala Village and climb up the vines nearby. Head up and roll some dirt into the hole to clear your path, following the path as it bends to the left.

Jump down into the well and complete the nonogram puzzles to earn the Ghost Key, which you use to unlock the chicken coop. Inside, waiting in a chest, is a Heart Coin.

Heart Coin 15/44
From inside the house where you obtain the Bombs, blow up the boulders on the right side of the cave, and go through the door behind them. Cross over the pit by climbing the vines on the wall to reach the next door, and find the Heart Coin in a chest outside.

Heart Coin 16/44
Head to Treasure Beach, south of Barlu Forest, and use a bomb to clear the cave entrance. Look at the book at the back of the cave to see the drawing below.

Now head to the cemetery near the house you got the bombs from, and move the headstones into the positions in the image below to open the door.
Go inside and through the small tunnel and use a bomb to blow up the boulder on the bridge. The Heart Coin is in the chest at the end of the bridge.

Heart Stone 17/44
In the top right of Alberto’s Farm is a big red barn. Go behind it to find a back entrance leading to a small room with a Heart Coin inside a chest waiting.

Heart Coin 18/44
At the bottom of Alberto’s Farm is a wooden bridge over a stream with a rock on the other side. Push the block out of the way and head down the path to reach a secluded beach.
Talk to the monkey, and they will challenge you to a round of Coconut Golf. You need to get the coconut over to the left side of the beach and in the ring around the flag in 3 hits to earn a Heart Coin.

Heart Coin 19/44
This Heart Coin is hidden in Barlu Forest, to the West of Koala Village. Enter it via the large tree trunk to the left of the flower lady’s shop.
Run to the left side of this area, and use a bomb to blow up the boulder blocking the vines leading to a chest. Inside the chest is the Heart Coin.

Heart Coin 20/44
Go past the patch of ruins in Barlu Forest and go up inside the large tree trunk. You should see a chest nestled in the trees to the left.
At the other end of the tree trunk, turn left and run into the trees next to it to find a hidden path to the chest, which has a Heart Coin inside.

Heart Coin 21/44
At the end of the chairlift in Barlu Forest, you’ll meet Blossom, one of the Onion-headed enemies, and they want your help. Their leek has been stolen, but the thieves left a path of broken twigs you can follow. Track the sticks to the right side of this area and go through a hidden exit to find the Moray Gang! Beat them up to get back Bossom’s leek, and earn yourself a Heart Coin.

Heart Coin 22/44
From the fast travel point in Barlu Forest, climb the vines above and keep heading up. On the next screen, cross over the long stone bridge and then immediately head down past the trees. Cross over the river in the shallow area, and open the chest to get another Heart Coin.

Heart Stone 23/44
Head back across the large stone bridge and find a hidden path below the left end of the bridge. Keep walking down into the shallows and walk under the smaller stone bridge. Underneath it is a hidden chest with a Heart Coin inside.

Heart Coin 24/44
This Heart Coin is found in a chest hidden behind the leaves of some palm trees on the raised part of Treasure Beach, south of Barlu Forest.

Heart Coin 25/44
This Heart Stone is found off the west coast of Seashell Island, but you need to get the Terror Trumpet first.
To do that, head to the far left side of Shelly Beach to find a hole in the ground with sound coming out of it. Use a bomb to clear the cave entrance and go inside. Inside the cave, push the two rocks onto the square cut into the ground, then pick up a wooden crate and stand on the square to make it fall. Open the box in this underground cave to get the Terror Trumpet.

Head to the west side of Seashell Island and look for three small statues near a stone tablet you can read if you have acquired the translator for completing the Post Woman trophy/achievement (Link to our Post Woman Trophy/Achievement Guide). You need to equip the Terror Trumpet and then play it between all three statues. Look at the image below for the spot.

When successful, an island will appear in the water, and a pair of hippos will arrive to carry you across to it. Blow up the boulder with a bomb and go inside the cave at the top of the island to a wooden water slide. Ride it to find a chest at the end containing a Heart Coin.

Heart Coin 26/44
When you are sneaking into the Lumber Mill in Barlu Forest, use a bomb to clear the cave entrance at the back of the yard. Inside the cave is a chest containing a Heart Coin.

Heart Coin 27/44
While breaking into the Sawmill, use the Fire Plant to burn the plants blocking a rock across a short wooden bridge. Push the rock out of the way and drop down onto the Sawmill’s roof. Fall through a hole in the roof, follow the balcony around the right side of the building, and grab the Heart Stone inside the chest.

Heart Coin 28/44
Follow the road West out of Koala Village and use a bomb to clear the cave entrance just below the dog owner’s home.
Inside, you need to navigate old mines and tunnels. Take the path to the right, and once you reach the next room, take the right door again. In the next room, take the top exit, and work your way round to the left, where the room with a chest containing a Heart Coin waits.

Heart Coin 29/44
At the start of the Volar Water Facility Dungeon, go through the door on the left and across the wooden bridges heading up.

Run to the top of the next chamber with the yak in it, leaving a trail of dog treats to the floor switch at the top. Then run back down the other side to stand on the bottom floor switch to free the yak, who will follow the treats to stand on the button, opening the door at the top of the room. Through the door is a chest with the Heart Coin in it.

Heart Coin 30/44
From the start of the Volar Water Facility Dungeon, go across the floating log and go through the door. In the next room, make the ram hit the button on the right using a dog treat to open the door going up.

In the net room, use a bomb on the cracked wall to the right of the top door, and at the end of a narrow tunnel is a chest with a Heart Coin inside.

Heart Coin 31/44
Make your way to the swampy part of Barlu Forest, where the Volar Water Facility Dungeon is situated. To the left of the dungeon is an area with a locked door and a wooden pen next to it. You need to herd three sheep into the pen to unlock the door (one of the sheep can be found over the river to the left).

Inside is a maze where you need to move large blocks by hitting levers. Hit the orange lever near the entrance to move the first block out of the way. Go left after the block and hit the turquoise lever, then follow the path to the right. Hit the green lever and go down the narrow path.

The orange lever you need to hit has a fan stopping you from reaching it, so walk around above it and use the Fire Plant to hit it. Go down the path to the left and shoot the turquoise lever across the gap, then walk back to take the path going up away from the orange lever. Take a right after the green lever and follow the path to a new room.

At the back of the room, in a chest, is a Heart Coin.

Heart Coin 32/44
To the right of the little harbour in the northwest of Seashell Island, and past the rock turtles blocking the road, is a grassy area with several trees and a ram. Use Dog Treats to make the ram charge the trees to knock fruit out of them, and then put the fruit in the basket. Once enough fruit is in the basket, it will transform into a strange bird-person called Avalanche, who gives you a Heart Coin for your trouble.

Heart Coin 33/44
This Heart Coin is found in the gondola section of Gold Dust Desert, in the northwest of Seashell Island. You want to get to the middle mesa and look for a cave entrance to unblock with a bomb.

Inside the cave, you want to light the two braziers you can see with the Fire Plant, then shoot a fireball directly north between the two of them to hit a third brazier. This lowers the spikes, behind which is a chest with the Heart Coin.

Heart Coin 34/44
The next Heart Coin is found on the top middle mesa in the gondola area, and you will need the Hiku Bird, which you unlock once you have reached the Lighthouse in the story.

Once you arrive at the mesa, use your Hiku Bird to press the button hidden in the trees to the left of the vines. Climb up the cliff face and head to the right, and climb up the rocky wall. At the top, use your Hiku Bird a second time to press a button on the peak of the rock to your left. Finally, climb back down and go to the left, looking for a third button on the lower ledge among the grass. With all three buttons hit, a secret stairwell appears at the back of the area.

Inside the cave, go left and walk across the invisible bridge to where the spikes are. Walk up to the spikes at the top, turn left, and fire a fireball at the lever to lower the spikes in blocking the way up. Navigate the invisible walkway to the end to find a chest with a Heart Coin inside.

Heart Coin 35/44
After you have camped out with Avocado, following collecting the Deep Salt for Master Paneki as part of the story, use your Hiku Bird to press the button above the blocked tunnel entrance. Walk around and past where the wooden poles once blocked your way, and work your way through the solar panels to reach the crate in the top left. Inside is a Heart Coin.

Heart Coin 36/44
This Heart Coin is found in the snowy north of Seashell Island, past the area with icy rivers you need to run through. Having the Hot Water Bottle stops icy water from hurting you. Climb up the vines and go through the door, then use the vents to get to the tip of this vertical chamber.

Run up through the water and climb the wall in front of you instead of going left or right. Follow this path until it forks, and take the path going to the right. On the next screen is a chest with the Heart Coin in it.

Heart Coin 37/44
Once you reach the large frozen lake area in the snowy north of Seashell Island, head to the right side of it and look for an unlit campfire. Use your Fire Plant to light the campfire, and animals will show up to huddle around it for warmth. Use a Dog Treat to make the yak stand on the hidden floor switch and reveal a hidden stairwell. Head to the right inside the cave to find a chest with the Heart Coin in it.

Heart Coin 38/44
In the top right corner of the frozen lake area is a narrow path across water you can run over to reach a vertical cave you need to make it to the bottom of to reach another door.

You’ll run into the Moary Gang. Beat them up, and you’ll earn yourself a Heart Coin.

Heart Coin 39/44
On your way to the Igloo Heights in the north of Seashell Island, you’ll be running through the snow with a view of the whole island. At this point, take the path heading down and climb down the wall to take the precarious-looking route back to the left side of the area. At the end of the path is a cave that you need a bomb to unblock.

Inside the cave is a fun puzzle to solve, where you need to flick a dog treat from the bottom of the room up to the top through a maze of sorts. Make sure the levers on the right side of the room are in the same positions as in the image below, and launch the dog treat from the position shown in the other image. If successful, the yak at the top of the room will walk onto the floor switch to open the door in the top right corner of the room. Through the door is a chest with a Heart Coin in it.

Heart Coin 40/44
At some point in the story, you will be allowed to go to the VIP suite at the hotel in Igloo Heights. Interact with the dresser to find a Heart Coin.

Heart Stone 41/44
Go into the cave behind the Cereal Factory Dungeon, and use your Hiku Bird to move the weight onto the button to line up the gold platforms. Lead the ram on the other side back to the left using Dog Treats and make it charge into the button on the wall to open the door. Go through and hit the lever.

Head back out and climb up onto the area at the back of Igloo Heights, and go through the cave to the right. On the other side is a chest with a Heart Coin.

Heart Coin 42/44
Head to the top left of Igloo Heights to find a lone igloo. Inside, you want to use your Shovel near the desk to find a hole in the ground. Fall through, and take the Heart Coin from inside the chest.

Heart Coin 43/44
At the beginning of the Cereal Factory Dungeon, go through the door heading down to the right of the entrance. In the long mess room, use the Shovel to uncover a floor switch that opens the door at the bottom of the room. In the little room this leads to is a dresser containing a Heart Coin.

Heart Stone 44/44
When you are inside the Cereal Factory Dungeon, look for a room where you have to roll a snowball onto a conveyor belt to fill a hole on the other side of the room. Use a bomb to clear the doorway going down, and through it, you will find a Heart Coin in a dresser.
