Last week, Nintendo announced that Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen would be re-releasing for the Nintendo Switch via the e-Shop for the 30th anniversary of the juggernaut franchise. Not releasing as part of Nintendo Switch Online, the re-releases are essentially straight ports of the Gameboy Advance classics.
The remakes of the original Pokémon Red and Green are beloved with fans, but there was one burning question when the games were revealed – where’s the Pokémon Home support?
Well, now during the Pokémon 30th anniversary Pokémon Presents, Nintendo confirmed that Pokémon Home support will be coming to Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen via a future update. This means gamers will be able to transfer their newly captured Pokémon and carry them over to Pokémon Champions, once the update arrives at a TBA date.

Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen are available today, 27 February 2026 via the Nintendo e-Shop.
