At the PlayStation State of Play, (be sure to check out our summary article here), we learned that two God of War projects are currently being worked on. And one is available, right now!
God of War Trilogy Remake
Introducing the games is the original voice actor of Kratos, TC Carson. He revealed that a remake of the original God of War trilogy is being made. Santa Monica Studios is in the early stages of the project, so there isn’t anything to see or be shown, but they’re on with it! Very exciting!
PS6 launch title anyone?
God of War: Sons of Sparta (PS5)
To almost make up for the lack of news / footage around the Trilogy remake, the State of Play then showed us God of War sons of Sparta. Sons of Sparta is a 2D action platformer with a canon story set in Kratos’ youth. The game takes place during his trainnig at the Spartan Agoge alongside his brother Deimos.
Together, they must overcome threats that will put all their training to the test while confronting the true meaning of duty and honor.
The game is developed by Mega Cat Studios in partnership with Santa Monica Studio.

It’s great to have a new God of War game to play, as well as something confirmed to look forward to. Will the trilogy remake be a full blown remake that is on the same level graphically of the most recent God of War games, or are we in remake / remaster territory? What do you think?
