Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Comes to Switch 2 and Xbox Series on 3 June 2026

At today’s Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, Square Enix have revealed that the second part of the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy, the sensational Rebirth, will arrive on Switch 2 this summer. The follow up to Remake Intergrade will launch on Nintendo’s hybrid console on 3 June 2026. The game is also confirmed to launch on Xbox Series the same day.

Following a long period of exclusivity for Remake Intergrade on PlayStation consoles, the first part of the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy launched on Switch 2 and Xbox Series consoles recently. Remake Intergrade has been praised for its performance on Switch 2, despite being a demanding game for the console.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth launched on PlayStation 5 in summer 2024, therefore the gap in time between the game becoming multiplatform is far less than experienced with Remake.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Switch 2 Pre-Orders and Physical Edition

Digital pre-orders for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth are going to be available today. A physical version of the game will be released, pre-order customers will receive an exclusive Magic: The Gathering – FF “Zack Fair” card, featuring variant art by Tetsuya Nomura. It should be expected that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on Switch 2 will be a Game-Key Card, like Remake Intergrade.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Xbox Pre-Orders and Physical Edition

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will release digitally for Xbox on the same day. Digital pre-orders are now available via the Xbox Store.

It is now expected that the final part of the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy will launch without any console exclusivity. Final Fantasy’s Director has previously confirmed all three games will come to Xbox. The threequel is sticking with Unreal Engine 4 and a title for the game is confirmed internally, but that hasn’t been made public yet.
