Nintendo Switch Online Adds Two New Game Boy Games

Nintendo have revealed the latest batch of classic games that are being added for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. The two new Game Boy games join the service ahead of the addition of the original VR headset, the Virtual Boy which comes to Switch Online on February 17.

The newest games that will be joining the service are:

  • Yoshi: Ahead of the release of Switch 2’s Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, Nintendo are adding the action puzzler that sees Mario spinning plates to tile match icons for his iconic hungry dinosaur.
  • Balloon Kid: Taking place in the town of ‘Pencilvania’, Alice and her brother Jim take flight with their balloons. Alice must save Jim by following his balloons through eight stages.

You can check out the trailers for the new additions below.

Nintendo have continued to add more classic games from their extensive library of classics in the last year. Games have included Mario Paint, Bubsy and more for the SNES; as well as Chibi-Robo! and Mario Strikers for the GameCube – the GameCube emulation is exclusive to Switch 2. Nintendo have also been hard at work to ensure that older titles on Switch Online are accessible to modern audiences, with the Nintendo 64 Classics offering rewind and customisable controls.
