Trails on Trails on Trails on Trails
Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter (a remake of the original The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky FC) released last September. Yet even before the installation was complete fans were buzzing about the likelihood of a remake for the much lauded and loved Trails in the Sky SC. This is a title many fans consider among the very best in this long running series. An announcement was made in December confirming that the remake sequel was indeed on the way. Even better? It’s earlier than fans had hoped with a Fall 2026 release for PC, Switch 1 and 2 and PlayStation 5.
The gameplay trailer released by publisher GungHo Online Entertainment on their YouTube channel features a gameplay comparison between the original Nihon Falcom JRPG classic, Trails in the Sky SC, and the remake made in the same gorgeous 3D style of last year’s 1st Chapter remake. Take a look down below to see how Trails in the Sky 2nd is already shaping up.
The remake last year brought many new fans (including myself) into the light of Estelle and Joshua Bright’s path. We followed as they became senior bracers while facing corruption, conspiracy, and very naughty sheep. The 2nd Chapter continues directly from the first game’s notorious cliffhanger. I will refrain from mentioning any other story beats for fear of spoiling any aspect of this 13-game long story. While that may seem daunting, remember, GungHo released the perfect entry point into the series last September and I’m sure there are whispers already of a hopeful Trails the 3rd remake coming. Now’s the perfect chance to start the journey!
