Cairn – Heartbeat Trophy Guide

Cairn, a recently released mountain climbing simulator by The Game Bakers, may be a mostly solitary and gruelling experience. However, every budding pro-climber needs to have some training and knowledge if they hope to defeat Kami, something that no one has done before. Here is our Heartbeat trophy guide for Cairn.

Check out our Cairn Review to get our full thoughts on the game.

Heartbeat Trophy Guide

If you play Cairn in Alpinist (Normal) difficulty or Free Solo (Hard), dying SUCKS. In Alpinist, you need to perform manual saves, which can sometimes be 15-20 minutes ago (depending on how bad you are at this game, like I am). In Free Solo, death is permanent, forcing you to start a new game all over again.

Obtaining this flower, Pearly Edelweiss, will not only reward you with the trophy Heartbeat, but it will also save you from death once.

Unfortunately, we won’t have the ability to get this until past halfway into the game. Which makes sense in a way, as the climb will only get harder and the threat of death more severe.

The Pearly Edelweiss is located in the middle of your ascent of The Needle. Start from the smaller needle beside it. Once you’re at the top of the smaller one, perform a running leap (R2 + X) to cling to the main needle.

Look inside this landing spot. Unfortunately, the flower is sitting atop a climber that never got the chance to use its benefits, but it could still help you on your journey to the summit!

That was our Heartbeat trophy guide. We hope that it was helpful and that you learned from the trial and errors we experienced!
