In the full post from Focus, the details of the new Techmarine class get laid out. So, what do we have in store?
Techmarine Play
According to Focus, the Techmarine class will be focusing on crowd control (it can get busy). This class will host an arsenal that can handle both individual (and more deadly) opponents, as well as crowds of smaller Tyranids. However, this mixed class will be unlike the Bulwark, where the focus is deterring enemies away from attackers. Instead, the Techmarine will have a more generalized AoE/mid-range focus.
Abilities & Arsenal Options
The Techmarine’s biggest perk is their special ability, the Servo-Gun. Along with this will be the ability to both detect and activate Tarantula Sentry Guns in the various levels. This turrets will pump out the damage until they’re either destroyed or deplete their reserve of ammo.
But what about the arsenal? Here’s what the Techmarine will have at their disposal during gameplay:
- Primary Weaponry
- Auto Bolt Rifle
- Bolt Rifle
- Heavy Bolt Rifle
- Occulus Bolt Carbine
- Plasma Incinerator
- Secondary Weaponry
- Bolt Pistol
- Heavy Bolt Pistol
- Plasma Pistol
- Inferno Pistol
- Neo-Volkite Pistol
- Melee Weaponry
- Combat Knife
- Power Sword
- Power Axe
- Omnissian Axe
What was that last one? That’s right – a new, Techmarine-exclusive, melee weapon. The Omnissian Axe will have a wide spread, making it ideal for that crowd control that’s needed at times. It also boasts a unique ability to rush and impale enemies on the axe – the Omnissian Rush.
Focus also released an extensive video on the specific Perk trees of the Techmarine, which we’ve linked below.
