Last week, Deck Nine announced the new Life is Strange, Reunion. Reunion will bring an end to the saga of Chloe and Max who featured in the original and it’s standalone prequel, Before the Storm as well as the most recent entry in the franchise, 2024’s Double Exposure.
The Max and Chloe finale will allow gamers to play as both Chloe and Max, with Reunion bringing back Max’s ability to rewind time and alter decisions and change the course of the adventure at Caledon University.
Speaking to Eurogamer since the reveal of Reunion last week, Burch said she wouldn’t be returning to her role as Chloe but she holds her time as the character dear. As an actress who has moved on to new things – including voice acting Aloy in the Horizon games – she isn’t on the inside of the series. Burch doesn’t “know a lot about this project”, adding that “I’m learning about Reunion at the same time as the fans,”.
Though not returning to voice Chloe, she commented of her fondness for the series’ two most well-known characters saying “Max and Chloe will always have a special place in my heart.”
As this brings an end to Chloe and Max’s story, many fans of the beloved narrative series would have welcomed Burch back to the role. But like Life is Strange itself, the past is always there to be re-written.
Life is Strange: Reunion will launch on PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 on 26 March 2026. A physical version will be available as well as a Collector’s Edition which features a 12” vinyl soundtrack, Polaroid art cards and more.
