Mario and Luigi are back in theaters in just a few months but the excitement continues to grow for the next adventure. The sequel was announced back in 2024 and has remained on track with its release date. Over the last year, we’ve received details such as the official title and the casting of Brie Larson as Rosalina.
For those who are ready for more information in anticipation of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, you’re in luck. Nintendo has announced that Sunday, January 25th there will be a Nintendo Direct with an exclusive look at The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. They have also noted there will be no game information during this presentation. At this time, we do not know what will be included at this time. However, the image for the direct does indicate that we will see Mario and Luigi with some fire powers this go around.

We already know that Chris Pratt, Jack Black, Anya Taylor Joy, and Charlie Day, are returning to reprise their roles from the first movie. Some of the voice actors have also dropped a few hints for fans of the series. In an interview with Men’s Journal, Keegan-Michael Key shared, “We’re going to meet some new folks that are old favorites and some folks that I think are really deep cuts, but because of the way the story’s laying itself out right now, those characters are going to be very intriguing.” Who should we be on the look out for? This writer hopes for a Birdo sighting personally.
