We’ve been following new alt-Spain horror shooter, Crisol: Theater of Idols here at Gamer Social Club for a while. After appearing at several showcases in the last year, the horror action game is finally locked in for release. And there’s not long to wait, with the game launching on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC on February 10 2026.
To mark the release date announcement, there’s a new gameplay look at the game featuring horrifying enemies, a terrifying world and plenty of shooting action.
Set in the fictional Spanish re-imagination, Hispania, the games location is hauntingly Gothic. We play as Gabriel, a soldier who will use their blood as a weapon. In the trailer we see Gabriel reload his weapon by taking blood from his wrist, a reload animation I’ve not seen in over two decades of being a hardcore FPS player!
There is very much a BioShock feel to Crisol, with giant imposing enemies obscuring our paths who have ‘Big Daddy’ stature. Even the UI of the game appears to have BioShock inspirations. Whilst we seemingly wait an eternity for Judas and Welcome to Brightville, I’m very happy to see this one leaning into design ideas of one of the greatest ever shooter series.
Crisol: Theater of Idols is the second horror game to launch in three months from Blumhouse Games as Crisol follows more narrative-led, Sleep Awake which we liked in our review late last year.
If you’re keen to check this one out, there is a demo now available on Steam.
