After a lengthy time in early access on PC, Greedfall: The Dying World is set to leave its early access period and launch its 1.0 version. Thankfully this also includes a console release for Xbox and PlayStation this March.
The first Greedfall game came out of nowhere for me. I always liked playing these lesser known titles and giving them a spotlight. It looked good in the lead up, but I sure wasn’t prepared for just how good it would be as it quickly became one of my favourite RPG’s of all time.

So when I saw Greedfall 2 announced and shown off my initial reaction was pure joy that I could finally see more of the world that Spiders has created. That it was a prequel to help learn more about the world, natives and where the voyagers come from had me even more excited. However with it being a PC early access only release I had to wait for awhile. Now that the wait is almost over, I can’t wait to jump in and experience this world once more.
The new trailer shown today by publisher Nacon shows off what players who have skipped the Early Access period can expect. Developer Spiders has really captured the same feeling of the first game well and taken a big step forward in terms of production and scale.
Interestingly the “2” appears to have been dropped, perhaps helping emphasize that this is a prequel rather than a sequel.
Players will take control of a Teer Fradee native who is captured and brought to the voyagers homeland of Gacane. Players will have to figure out a way to escape and return home, all while trying to take down those who kidnapped you. Early Access feedback for the game has seen it fairly well received.
At the end of the trailer we see that the game will release fully on March 12th for Xbox Series S/X, PlayStation 5 and PC. No word just yet on retail versions, but we hope to see them.
