Forza Horizon 6 Brings New Features to Series, Launching in May

With Xbox set to have a banner year to celebrate their 25th anniversary, its only fitting that one of the games they would release would be their iconic Forza Horizon series. Since being announced in September, Forza Horizon 6 has been on every racing fans radar. Today during the Xbox Developer Direct, we finally got confirmation of the games release date and many other details via the Xbox Wire.

Having been leaked earlier in the day, Xbox and Playground Games have confirmed that the massive racing game will release on May 19th. Retail editions have been confirmed as well as multiple editions of the game. The standard edition will retail for $69.99 and pre-orders are available now.

Forza Horizon 6 continues the series expansion around the world, this time taking place in Japan. Players will experience Japan in a unique way as they race across the beautiful country with access to hundreds of cars, more than 550 to be exact.

The Horizon festival will continue in Forza Horizon 6 as you start out as a tourist in Japan trying to enter the festival by winning the first race. Once in you will fight your way up the ranks earning yourself a golden bracelet which opens up the festival exclusive Legend island. Prior to unlocking Legend island you will be able to explore Japan which Playground says is their biggest map yet.

Customized Garage & Estate

One of the most exciting feature of Forza Horizon 6 is the estate where your racers home and garage will be. Starting out as an empty land players will be able to build on the land as they earn more money and create an expansive estate that your friends can visit. The Estate builds upon previous game home areas.

“The Estate is inspired by this – it’s an old property that belonged to Mei’s family, and as you’ve travelled to Japan together, she’s asked you to help fix it up,” Ellert tells Xbox Wire. “Being responsible for an Akiya is really rooted in community, you take on the job of refurbishing somewhere that’s useful and meaningful to the people around you.”

Whether you want to build a unique track on the land or a series of compounds, the Estate is for you to decide.

The garage itself is also fully customizable and will be able to hold and show off many cars. As Forza fans are incredibly creative it will be cool to see everyone’s builds, as they customize not only their cars, but also their home and land.

Lastly, players will be able to create their own tracks and areas in the world and can also do it with friends as Playground introduces the first ever co-op creation lab.

Forza Horizon 6 will launch on Xbox Series S/X and PC on May 19th. PlayStation players can expect to see the title launch on PlayStation 5 later in the year.
