1348 Ex Voto’s release date has now been confirmed and it will be coming in a couple of months. However, the previously announced Xbox Series version has been cancelled.
Good news everyone, 1348 Ex Voto, the previously announced action-adventure game set in medieval Italy is releasing in March. 12 March 2026 to be precise.
Bad news everyone. 1348 Ex Voto, the previously announced action-adventure game set in medieval Italy will not be releasing on Xbox Series. It will only release on PC and PS5 now. The publisher Dear Villagers and devs Sedleo said that they were dropping the Xbox version “in order to focus the studio’s efforts on delivering the best experience possible for PC and PlayStation.”
The news was confirmed earlier today, alongside the announcement of the release date via a brand-new trailer that showcases more of the game. Check out the release date trailer below:
Whether the Xbox version sees the light of day in the future remains to be seen. It seems odd to drop a game’s version two months ahead of release. We know that there have been issues previously with Xbox ports, most notably the Xbox version of Baldur’s Gate 3. Interestingly, Enotria: The Last Song, another Italian-inspired game’s Xbox port had a bit of tumultuous journey. It was a thing, then it wasn’t, then it was again. Also, an Italian dev, Jyamma Games. They quoted a similar thing, “making the release on all platforms would lead to a decrease in the overall quality of the product and a further delay of the same” for Enotria.
It would be interesting to understand the detail behind the decision, and indeed if the Xbox version could come further down the line. Maybe the Xbox dev support in Italy is a bit lacking?
Shout Out to my Ex (Voto)
The game follows the story of Aeta who must travel across the Italian Peninsula to find Bianca (voiced by Expedition 33’s Jennifer English). The world will be gripped by a time when disease, instability, violence and criminality are rife and Aeta must overcome these hazards to save her ‘closest one’.
1348 Ex Voto is inspired by historical European Martial Arts and promises to feature “thrilling sword fighting in cinematic combat”. There’ll be one and two handed stances, for combat. These will be upgradeable using skills books to unlock new skills and combos.
The game has been priced at an attractive $24.99 when it releases in a couple of months. Will you be picking this up when it releases?
