The story that started perhaps the most iconic narrative driven adventure series in gaming is finally getting some closure via a new game, Life Is Strange: Reunion.
Announced today by developer Deck Nine and publisher Square Enix, Life is Strange: Reunion will see Max and Chloe reunite at long last. For fans wondering how this might be possible, it seems to be tied to the ability Max learned in the most recent game, Life Is Strange: Double Exposure.
Max returns to Caledon University after a weekend getaway to find the university set ablaze. While many of her friends, colleagues and students don’t survive, Max is able to in thanks to her rewind ability. Max uses the ability to rewind 3 days to figure out how the fire started and how to prevent it. Enter Chloe.
Much to Max’s surprise, she finds Chloe at Caledon. Chloe is revisiting a nightmare that she never lived and the 2 must use their abilities to unravel the mystery and help one another.
In Reunion players will be able to play as both Max and Chloe. Max with her rewind ability and Chloe with her Backtalk ability allowing them to manipulate time and conversations. All of this is mixed in with what Life Is Strange is known for, fantastic character building and great storytelling as they lead up to Max and Chloe’s climax to end their story.
For fans who have been waiting a long time for this story, they don’t have to wait much longer. Life Is Strange: Reunion will release on March 26th for Xbox Series S/X, PlayStation 5 and PC at a price of $39.99USD for the standard edition. There will also be a deluxe edition as well as collector’s edition.
