Move over Sherlock, there’s a new detective in town. No, we aren’t talking about Benoit Blanc from the Knives Out movies. Travel back to 1930s England where Lord Robert Anderson is found dead in his study and it’s up to you to solve the mystery. In upcoming Clue: Murder By Death you have just two hours to solve the case before Scotland Yard arrives. Are you up to the task when it launches February 13th?
The development team over at Cocodrolo Games isn’t making this easy though. This narrative adventure comes with a twist. You can’t explore everything in one session and know who the murderer is. Instead, Clue: Murder by Death invites you to play multiple runs in order to uncover the full truth. There are many suspects in this game of cat and mouse each with their own M.O. The game isn’t just about interviewing your suspects. To uncover the truth you’ll also have to solve puzzles to collect all the evidence along the way.
There are 166 rooms to explore, many hidden motives, and according to the Steam page, perhaps even more than one possible truth. We know Lord Anderson died in the study, but was it by the hands of butler James Benson? Or perhaps the maid Susan Grey has had enough. Although perhaps it was the vampire Mr. D who tried to give Lord Anderson the gift of eternal life and it all went wrong. Certainly it can’t be the sweet old grandmother Lady Brighton right?

What makes Clue: Murder By Death unique is that everything is meant to be a bit subjective. Each character brings their own perspective that will have players viewing everything differently along the way. Your relationships play a part and Clue: Murder By Death lets us know the truth might be out there, but how will you know? As the Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius once wrote, “Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth.” How will your character’s perspective change who you suspect is the murderer?
Each play through will take you approximately 2 hours which makes this the perfect game for those who can’t quite dedicate too long to their gaming sessions. In order to get the full truth, you’ll have to play through each of the stories to get every bit of information out there. The game also promises that each clue could look different to each character so be sure to look very closely. What seems innocent to someone else may very well be the nail in the coffin for someone else!
For those, who like me, are ready to take on the detective role, Clue: Murder by Death will launch on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation on February 13, 2026. You can wish list now on Steam. For those who can’t wait, pull out that notepad and try out the demo also available on Steam.
