With the Christmas period behind us, Xbox Game Pass subscribers will have been eagerly awaiting the first drop of games to launch into the subscription service for January 2026. The first two games of the month have now been surprise launched into the service, with one being a modern remaster of a very popular last-generation title.
First up is Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, the 4K 60fps Xbox Series X/S remaster of fan favourite horror title, Little Nightmares. The title spawned a franchise and has since received two sequels including 2025’s lukewarm received, Little Nightmares III. Whilst a remaster, Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition does not come as a complete package with three optional DLC packs available. Having completed all three, they are worth your time even if they’re incredibly short. This one is available in Game Pass Ultimate, Premium and Game Pass for PC.

In addition is a less-known title, Brews & Bastards. This indie is “an intoxicating, twin-stick shooter, overflowing with action-packed combat, potent brews and outlandish bosses. Select from a group of inebriated heroes and blast your way through hordes of drunken demons in search of the stolen Brew Stone.” Check out the trailer below for more information. This one is also available in Game Pass Ultimate, Premium and Game Pass for PC.
It is likely we will see a full announcement of the new wave later today, as Microsoft typically announce the first wave of the month, on the first Tuesday of every month. We will be sure to bring you the full list when announced.
If you do take a liking to Little Nightmares now that you can play it via Game Pass, be sure to keep an eye on Reanimal. Reanimal is a new title developed by many of the minds behind the original Little Nightmares that is scheduled to arrive next month on PC, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
