Resident Evil Requiem Looks Phenomenal in 4K Path Tracing & NVIDIA DLSS 4

It’s mere weeks away now from the release of the latest Resident Evil, Requiem with the game arriving on 27 February 2026. There’s been a wealth of trailers for the game in the runup to launch including a reveal at The Game Awards that Leon Kennedy would be returning to the franchise, alongside other protagonist FBI Intelligence Analyst, Grace Ashcroft.

The latest Resident Evil title will allow players to play in first person or third person throughout the entire game, enabling player choice to the perspective which has been alternated between in the franchise. The last two mainline entries, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and Resident Evil 8: Village have both been first person; whilst the modern exceptional remakes of 2, 3, 4 have all been in the series more traditional third person. I for one, will be playing through the game in each dimension – even if I’m unsure how a Leon roundhouse kick will look in first person.

Now what is for certain is that for gamers privileged enough to have high-end PC hardware, there will be some excellent graphics options for the game in their chosen view. In a trailer released by NVIDIA, the game is confirmed to have “path tracing and NVIDIA DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation”.

The trailer showcases RTX options on and off, with light reflections looking stunning when turned on. The trailer also shows framerates exceeding 300fps. There’s no mention of the hardware required for running the game at these settings, though one can expect it will be a considerably pricey setup. In a blog post from NVIDIA, the tech giant also confirms that DLSS 4 is now available in over 250 games, and will be coming to 007 First Light, Pragmata and Phantom Blade Zero when they launch on their respective dates this year.

The game will launch with various editions including a fancy steelbook, as well as a Switch 2 Pro Controller then an Amiibo will follow after launch. Digital pre-order bonuses are also available which includes a costume for Grace which nods to one the franchise films, Apocalypse.
