PlayStation is kicking off the new year with the announcement of the first PS Plus monthly games, all available to download and play from Tuesday, January 6th, and included with every tier of a PS Plus subscription.
Announced via the PlayStation Blog, the PS Plus monthly games for January 2026 are:
- Need For Speed: Unbound (PS5)
- Epic Mickey: Rebrushed (PS4, PS5)
- Core Keeper (PS4, PS5)
If you are not familiar with these titles, here is a quick summary of each game.
First up is Need For Speed: Unbound, the most recent entry in the NFS series, released in December 2022 and developed by Criterion Games. Race from the bottom to the top in both single and multiplayer campaigns, filling out your garage with precision-tuned, custom rides. Race against the clock, outdrive the cops, and win qualifiers to reach The Grand, the peak of racing in Lakeshore.
Next up, we shift gears from adrenaline-pumping racing to paint-splattered adventuring in Epic Mickey Rebrushed, the remastered version of the original Epic Mickey game released in November 2010. Fill the yellow shoes and red shorts of Mickey Mouse in this imaginative 3D platformer adventure, using the magical powers of paint and thinner to save the fate of an alternative world. Meet iconic characters like Oswald the Rabbit, take on creative challenges, all while exploring classic platforming levels inspired by animated films and shorts from Disney’s history.
Last but by no means least is Core Keeper, a 1-8 player sandbox adventure where your choices shape an epic journey. Explore mysterious caves to collect resources, craft new and improved tools, build your base, and uncover the secrets that lie hidden in a dynamically evolving and cavernous world. You can also enjoy some fishing, cooking, looking after animals, and interacting with the Cavlings, as well as leveling up your skills and defeating giant Titans. Whether alone or with friends, get ready to carve out your own adventure!
It should also be pointed out that with this new batch of PS Plus games arriving tomorrow, today is the last day for PS Plus subscribers to add December 2025’s excellent slate of PS Plus monthly games, including LEGO Horizon Adventures, The Outlast Trails, Neon White, Killing Floor 3, and Synduality Echo of Ada.
