As 2025 comes to a close the 2026 release calendar is already quickly approaching, with RGG Studio once again starting the year off with a new Yakuza/Like a Dragon title. Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties is just under two months away, and Sega has revealed more information about brand new battle arenas featured in the game and has announced a Direct focused on the game airing next week.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties is a compilation of sorts for the series that brings together a full remake of 2009’s Yakuza 3 in the style of previous Kiwami entries, alongside a spin-off prequel focused on the game’s antagonist, Yoshitaka Mine. Yakuza Kiwami 3 will add new mini-games, sub-stories, combat syles, and more to the reimagined PS3 game, while Dark Ties will feature a fully original story with unique combat styles, and an over 10-hour runtime.

Continuing on from recent action-based entries such as Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased his Name, both games will include arenas where players can control either Kiryu or Mine to take advantage of their new fighting styles. For Kiryu, this takes the form of Miyazato Dojo, which introduces the new Ryukyu Style, and Mine’s being an underground fight club. Both will connect to overarching sub-stories in each game.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 will also feature a mini-game in which Kiryu commands a female biker gang as they compete for turf in Okinawa to fight off a rival gang known as the Tokyo Night Terrors. This mini-game sees the player recruiting gang members around the city and managing them for all-out battles, similar to the pirate crew system in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties Direct Announced

Despite all of this information, RGG Studios still has more to show for Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties, as the studio will host a Direct focused on the game on December 22 at 5pm PT/8pm ET/1am GMT (December 23). The Direct will air on Sega’s YouTube and Twitch pages.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties will release on PC, Nintendo Switch 2, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on February 12, 2026.
