GungHo Online Entertainment just released a teaser trailer to announce the official release date for Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter! The sequel remake of the 2025 Nihon Falcom release (published in the west by GungHo), Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, is set to release in the Fall of 2026 for PlayStation 5, Switch, Switch 2 and PC (via Steam).
The first adventure saw Estelle and Joshua Bright travel the country of Liberl in the hopes of finding their missing father and becoming Senior Bracers along the way, however mysteries and conspiracies abounds and together, with friends from all over, the young bracers attempt to uncover the hidden plots threatening to reshape their home.
The sequel will feature a hybrid action and turn-based combat system with some skills (or “Arts”) becoming more powerful depending on your location on the battlefield. The 2nd Chapter is primed to deliver a few more additions not present in the 1st.
Some of the new features includes additional combat options in the form of new Crafts and S-Crafts as well as the ability to link characters together with the new Brave Rush mechanic. New side content is also set to become available with the 2nd chapter, such as minigames like cooking, fishing, and poker, as well as “fan-favourite characters joining as playable party members”.
It’s not yet known if the upcoming 2nd chapter will be as long as the original (being noticeably longer than the original First Chapter) or if it’ll also grow in size like last year’s 1st Chapter remake.
You will also be able to transfer save data from the previous Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter to receive bonus items for the next adventure!
